Visa assistance for genuine students
Next Step Hua Hin helps students obtain or extend the correct Education Visa for recognised study in Thailand. Contact us before enrolling or applying so we can review the proposed course, your immigration status and the school documents.
An ED visa is intended for genuine education. The institution and programme must be suitable for visa support, and students are expected to attend and comply with the course requirements.
How Next Step Hua Hin helps
Education applications can involve documents from both the student and the institution. The process differs for overseas applications, changes of status in Thailand and later extensions.
We can:
Review your passport and current permission
Check the school’s supporting documents
Identify the correct application route
Prepare a personalised checklist
Organise forms and supporting papers
Explain extension, reporting and travel considerations
Parents accompanying a child at school normally need a separate dependant route. An ED visa also does not automatically provide permission to work. Tell us about the whole family and any employment plans so we can identify the correct solution.
Choosing the right school and preparing early are essential. Avoid organisations promising a visa without meaningful study or attendance. Immigration can request additional evidence or ask questions about the course.

Education visas are for genuine study
Enrolling in a course and obtaining immigration permission are separate matters. A recognised school must be able to support the application, but admission alone does not guarantee a visa or extension. Immigration may review the course, school documentation, study history and whether attendance is genuine. Choose the institution carefully before paying non-refundable fees.
School and student responsibilities
The school normally supplies course and institutional records while the student provides passport, address, photographs and other personal documents. Attendance and progress may be checked, and stopping classes can affect immigration status. Changing schools often requires coordinated cancellation and a new application rather than a simple transfer.
Travel, guardians and planning ahead
Students should obtain advice before travelling because a re-entry permit or other action may be required. A qualifying parent may have a guardian option when a child studies at an approved institution, subject to separate requirements. Start early and review our travel guidance, family visa assistance and document services.

University students: check the ED Plus route
Students enrolled in a Thai university at bachelor’s degree level or higher may qualify for the separate Non-Immigrant ED Plus framework. Its benefits can include exemption from a re-entry permit during qualifying study, university-coordinated extensions and a possible one-year stay after graduation to seek employment or undertake other permitted activities. It is not the normal route for language schools or short courses.
