A refusal, a request for more evidence and an incomplete online application are not the same outcome. The first task is to preserve the notice and identify exactly which authority, visa category and requirement caused the problem.

Read the decision before reapplying

Save the email, portal message, receipt and every uploaded file. Note whether the case was refused, withdrawn, cancelled, returned for correction or left incomplete. Do not create a second application merely because the first is taking longer than expected.

Common problems

  • Wrong visa category or purpose
  • Applying through a mission that is not responsible for the applicant
  • Unclear or inconsistent passport, name or date information
  • Financial evidence that does not show ownership, history or required availability
  • Missing employment, family, university or activity evidence
  • Untranslated, uncertified or expired documents
  • Failure to respond to an additional-document request on time

Additional documents are not a refusal

Respond through the channel stated by the embassy or Immigration. Supply exactly what was requested, explain any unavoidable discrepancy briefly and avoid replacing clear evidence with long unsupported explanations. Keep a complete copy of the response.

Reapplication and fees

Visa fees are generally non-refundable, including when an application is refused. A new application should correct the identified weakness and disclose prior history truthfully when asked. Repeating the same package usually repeats the same risk.

When the visa route is wrong

A refusal may reveal that the intended activity belongs under another category. Compare the options with our Thailand Visa Checker, Non-Immigrant category guide and e-Visa guide.

Frequently asked questions

Can an agent guarantee the next application?

No. No private provider controls the decision of an embassy or Immigration.

Should I hide a previous refusal?

No. Answer application questions accurately. A false answer can create a more serious credibility issue.

Can I appeal?

A formal appeal is not available for every visa decision. Follow the notice and the responsible authority’s instructions; sometimes a corrected new application is the practical route.
