MAXmarket: a leading Hua Hin snus outlet

MAXmarket is one of Hua Hin’s best-known specialist snus outlets and an established name in Thailand’s independent snus retail scene. Its own site lists MAXsnus, made locally according to a Swedish recipe, in both portion and loose formats. The store also stocks Scandinavian food and is listed by nicotine-pouch distributor Nicohub as an independent retail outlet.

The shop’s published price is ฿1,100 per stock: 300 g of portion snus or 500 g of loose snus, packed and ready. These are product-weight listings, not an independently verified number of cans. No separate up-to-date pouch price list is published.

Address: 34/100 Soi Mu Ban Dusit Land & House, Hua Hin 77110 (near the Soi 94 area).
Phone: +66 85 437 8546
Hours: Monday–Saturday 10:00–16:00, according to MAXmarket’s own site. A distributor directory lists different hours; check before travelling.

MAXmarket: Hua Hin’s lowest snus prices

According to current local price information provided to this guide, MAXmarket charges 160 baht per can and is regarded locally as the lowest-priced snus outlet in Hua Hin. MAXmarket’s own catalogue also lists ten-can products for 1,600 baht, equivalent to 160 baht per can (product catalogue). That supports the ten-pack unit price, but the same walk-in price for every brand and comprehensive comparisons with competing shops have not been independently established. MAXmarket also publishes a separate 1,100-baht stock price for its MAXsnus products, as detailed above.

Traditional snus versus nicotine pouches

Traditional Swedish-style snus contains tobacco and is sold as portion snus or loose snus. Tobacco-free nicotine pouches look similar but are a different product category. A shop advertising “snus” may stock only nicotine pouches; the distinction matters when comparing outlets. Ask what is physically available in the shop rather than assuming every brand or format is stocked.

Prices, stock and practical notes

MAXmarket lists selected ten-can bundles for ฿1,600, equivalent to ฿160 per can when bought as that bundle. Local price information also puts the shop at ฿160 per can; check whether the same rate applies to single cans and other varieties. MAXmarket separately publishes a ฿1,100 stock price for certain MAXsnus products. Other outlets have no comparable confirmed current per-can prices, so an across-the-board lowest-price ranking cannot yet be independently established. Check stock and hours before visiting.

What about a new shop near Index / Soi 5?

A Facebook discussion mentions a newly opened or forthcoming snus shop beside Index Living Mall near Hua Hin Soi 5. No reliable shop name, exact storefront or opening date has been verified. Index Living Mall itself is a landmark in northern Hua Hin; the documented Soi 1 shop is a separate known location, and it has not been shown to be the rumoured Index shop.

Is snus legal in Thailand? What the official sources say (October 2026)

Important distinction: Tobacco-containing Swedish snus and tobacco-free nicotine pouches are not identical products. The fact that shops list them does not, by itself, establish that every product has been lawfully imported or approved for sale.

Why reports seem contradictory: A joint WHO–Thailand assessment published in 2023 describes restrictions dating to a 1992 Ministry of Finance decision affecting the import, production and sale of chewing/smokeless tobacco. Thailand’s own 2025 report to the WHO tobacco-control convention, however, identifies both smokeless tobacco products and nicotine pouches as legally available on the national market, generally or under specific circumstances, and says both are regulated. These official documents do not explain how the older restriction applies to every modern Swedish-style snus product; neither provides a blanket authorisation for individual brands, retailers or imports.

Possession and personal use: The official sources reviewed do not establish that simply possessing or personally using snus is, in itself, a specific criminal offence. This is not confirmation that possession or use is lawful in every situation, or that a traveller may import any form of snus without restrictions.

Bringing snus into Thailand: Thai Customs publishes a general passenger duty-free tobacco allowance of up to 250 grams (or 200 cigarettes), but this does not override bans or permit requirements for particular products. Travellers should confirm their exact product and quantity with Thai Customs before travelling.

Sales and advertising: Tobacco and nicotine products are subject to Thai tobacco-control rules, including restrictions on sales channels, promotion and display. A shop listing or price is not a legal-approval certificate.

Official references: WHO/Thailand 2023 needs assessment (1992 restrictions); Thailand’s WHO FCTC 2025 report (section 3.10); Thai Customs passenger allowance; Thai Department of Disease Control: tobacco legislation.

Legal-status summary reviewed 14 October 2026. This is general information, not legal advice; Thailand’s authorities should be consulted on a specific product or import.
