Save these before you need them. This is the complete directory of emergency and useful phone numbers for living in Hua Hin: the national hotlines, direct lines for the hospitals, police and tourist help, embassy emergency contacts for UK, US, German, Swedish and Russian residents, and the power and water hotlines. Checked against official sources in October 2026.
The six numbers to save first
Thailand’s national emergency lines work the same way in Hua Hin as anywhere else in the country. If you only save a handful of numbers, save these. They come from the Thai government’s own list of important numbers.
| Number | Who answers | When to call |
|---|---|---|
| 191 | Police — the general emergency line | Crime, violence or any urgent situation. You can ask for English, but if language is the problem, call 1155 instead. |
| 1669 | National emergency medical services | Ambulance and rescue dispatch for medical emergencies, accidents and serious injuries. |
| 199 | Fire department | Fire. |
| 1155 | Tourist Police | English-speaking help for visitors and expats: scams, theft, disputes, lost property. |
| 1193 | Highway Police | Accidents or breakdowns on the main highway network, including the Phetkasem Road corridor. |
| 192 | National Disaster Warning Center | Flood, storm and other disaster warnings. |
Step-by-step help: this page is the directory. For what to actually do in the first minutes of a medical emergency, read our guide to emergency numbers in Hua Hin and what to do.
Hospitals in Hua Hin: direct lines
For a serious medical problem you can call 1669 for a public ambulance, or call a hospital’s emergency line directly. Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin’s own head of emergency medicine advises calling either 1669 or the hospital’s emergency department. Hua Hin has two private hospitals with 24-hour emergency care, plus the public Hua Hin Hospital. See how they compare in our hospital comparison.
| Hospital | Emergency / main number | Address |
|---|---|---|
| Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin (private) | 032-616-888 — Trauma & Emergency Center, 24 hours 032-616-800 — hospital call centre | 888 Phetkasem Road |
| San Paolo Hospital Hua Hin (private) | 032-532-576 — hospital main line | 222 Phetkasem Road |
| Hua Hin Hospital (public) | 032-523-000 — hospital main number (not an emergency line) | 30/2 Phetkasem Road |
For Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin the numbers come from the hospital itself. The public Hua Hin Hospital’s main number is the one Thai hospital directories consistently list. It is a switchboard, so in an emergency call 1669 first.
What to tell the dispatcher
- Where you are: a landmark, the road name, or your address in Thai (see saving your address).
- What happened, and the patient’s gender, age and symptoms.
- How many people are hurt.
- Your name and a phone number where the team can reach you.
Stay on the line and follow the instructions you are given. Do not move someone who may have a neck or spinal injury, and wait for the rescue team to collect them. Make sure your health insurance details are easy to find, since private hospitals will ask for them.
Police, tourist help and road incidents
| Number | Service | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| 1155 | Tourist Police (also +66 2 308 0333) | Your best first call if you need English or have been scammed, robbed or overcharged. |
| 191 | Police | General emergency line. |
| 032-511-027 | Hua Hin Police Station, 18 Damnoen Kasem Road | The local station, listed as open 24 hours. Go here for a police report in person, for example after a theft or a lost passport. In an emergency call 191 first. |
| 1193 | Highway Police | Road accidents and breakdowns on highways. |
| 1192 | Stolen vehicle centre | Reporting a stolen car or motorbike. |
| 1195 | Crime Suppression Division | Serious crime. |
| 1196 | Water accident notification | Drowning and sea or water emergencies, relevant on Hua Hin beaches. |
| 1300 | Missing-person social assistance centre | Reporting a missing person. |
| 1672 | Tourism Authority of Thailand | Tourist information, not an emergency line. |
If your passport is lost or stolen, ask the Tourist Police for a police report first. Your embassy will want it, and you will need it for any replacement document. Embassy and consular emergency lines

Power and water problems
| Number | Service | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1129 | Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) contact centre | Power outages and electrical faults, 24 hours. Press 9 for an English-speaking agent. Have the 12-digit CA number from your electricity bill ready. |

For what these utilities cost and how to check your landlord’s electricity rate, see our guide to utilities and internet in Hua Hin.
Thai words that help in an emergency
| English | Thai | Say it like |
|---|---|---|
| Help! | ช่วยด้วย | chuay duay |
| Ambulance | รถพยาบาล | rot pha-ya-ban |
| Police | ตำรวจ | tam-ruat |
| Hospital | โรงพยาบาล | rong pha-ya-ban |
| Fire | ไฟไหม้ | fai mai |
A few words go a long way when a call-taker or taxi driver does not speak English. For more, see learning basic Thai.
Prepare an emergency plan before you need it
A little preparation can save time when something goes wrong. Decide which hospital you would normally use and know the route. Save your full address, a map pin, building or village name and a nearby landmark on your phone; keeping the address in Thai script can make it easier to share your location with a dispatcher, taxi driver or Thai-speaking helper.
- Keep your passport copy, insurance card and policy details somewhere easy to find.
- If you take regular medication or have important allergies or medical conditions, keep a short current medical summary on your phone or in your wallet.
- Make sure a spouse, friend, neighbour or other trusted contact knows where your emergency information is stored.
- For urgent but non-life-threatening problems, contact the hospital or clinic you normally use and ask where they want you to attend. For a medical emergency, call 1669.
How to save and share these numbers
- Add each number to your phone contacts with a clear name, for example “EMERGENCY – Ambulance 1669”.
- Save the direct line of the hospital you would choose, and register there before you need it.
- Keep a photo of your passport page, visa and insurance card on your phone.
- Share the list with family, neighbours and your landlord or housing office.
- Your whole household should know where the nearest hospital is and how to describe your address.
